John Kirby Cruse |
One of Baxter County’s registered sex offenders, 34 year old JOHN KIRBY CRUSE of 70 L and L Ranch Road in rural Mountain Home, was arrested this afternoon on a felony charge for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Sex Offenders are required by law to inform the law enforcement agency they are registered with of their work or employment status. Any change in this status must be promptly reported. JOHN KIRBY CRUSE had informed the Sheriff’s Office that he has been “self-employed” in construction since 2008. He re-confirmed this self-employment status during a status-check interview at the Sheriff’s Office on October 30, 2015.
The Sheriff received a tip on December 2, 2015 indicating that CRUSE was working for a local property management firm and is not self-employed. This firm was contacted by the Sheriff and confirmed that CRUSE had been on their company payroll since May, 2015 and had not been on self-employed contract labor since that time.
JOHN KIRBY CRUSE was arrested this afternoon and booked into the Detention Center for Failure to Register – Class C Felony. He was released from custody after posting $15,000 bond. He will appear in Circuit Court to answer the charge on December 10th.
