STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED IN MISSOURI; ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
12/07/2015
A motor vehicle theft charge was filed today against 35 year old CHRISTOPHER TERRY BEAN of Pomona, Missouri after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle that had been reported to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 1, 2015, the Sheriff’s Office took a report that a 2005 Jeep Cherokee valued at approximately $6,000 had been stolen from 46 Hopper Lane in rural Mountain Home. The Sheriff’s Office entered the vehicle into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as stolen and alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies to watch for the vehicle.
On November 22, 2015, Sheriff’s Investigators learned that CHRISTOPHER BEAN was in custody at the Ozark County Jail in Gainesville, Missouri. Investigators were informed that BEAN had driven the stolen vehicle to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office to visit his girlfriend, who was incarcerated there. Ozark County deputies determined that there was already an outstanding arrest warrant for BEAN in an unrelated case and took him into custody. They also found that the vehicle BEAN drove to the jail was the vehicle reported stolen in Baxter County on October 1st. BEAN subsequently admitted to authorities that he had stolen the vehicle.
Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained a bench warrant today for the arrest of CHRISTOPHER BEAN for Theft of Property – Felony, and a detainer-hold has been placed on him. BEAN will be extradited to Baxter County to face his charge here once Missouri authorities are finished with him.
