48 Year Old Woman Charged With Theft and Possession

On November 27, 2015 at approximately 1:10 am, Baxter County Deputies responded to the Royal 66 Club in reference to the theft of a purse. The victim reported the purse contained an iPhone, debit card, credit card, an envelope containing $102.00 in cash, approximately 30 Hydrocodone, her husband's asthma inhaler, other medications, and miscellaneous items.
On November 28, a US Postal Worker found the purse belonging to the victim inside a large mailbox but most of the items were missing.
Sheriff’s Investigators were able to determine that the cell phone belonging to the victim was last pinged at the suspect’s home on Hwy 201 South. A credit card transaction showing a purchase of $154.94 at a local business after the purse was reported stolen. When interviewed, witnesses at the Club were able to identify the suspect based on the suspect had left without paying and had left a credit card behind.
On November 30, the suspect, 48 year old Elizabeth N. Howell of rural Mountain Home was interviewed and subsequently charged with:
Theft of Property Class D Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance - Hydrocodone Class D Felony Criminal Mischief 1st Degree Class A Misdemeanor
Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Class A Misdemeanor
Howell was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and is currently being held on bond of $7500. She is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on December 3, 2015 at 9 am.
