     A local fugitive from justice, 38 year old CHRISTOPHER JOHN JENKINS, was arrested Monday morning, August 24th at a residence in Briarcliff, and two other men, 39 year old BERNARD EDWARD JENKINS and 37 year old CHARLES LLOYD GAMBLE, both of Briarcliff, were also arrested for Hindering Apprehension.

     Acting on a citizen tip received at the Mountain Home Police Department, Sheriff’s Deputies, a Mountain Home Police Investigator, and an Investigator with the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force went to 17 Orval Ln. in the City of Briarcliff on Monday morning to look for CHRISTOPHER JENKINS.

     As they arrived on the premises, officers observed two men standing beside a green Volkswagon Jetta. They were identified as BERNARD JENKINS and CHARLES GAMBLE. They were questioned by officers as to the whereabouts of the fugitive CHRISTOPHER JENKINS. Both of them denied having any knowledge as to his whereabouts.

     Inside the vehicle, officers found identification and property belonging to CHRISTOPHER JENKINS. They also found marijuana, prescription pills, and various drug paraphernalia.

     After searching the nearby woods for approximately one hour, a MHPD Officer found CHRISTOPHER JENKINS. He was lying on the ground in heavy cover approximately forty yards from the location of the vehicle. JENKINS was taken into custody without incident. JENKINS told officers that the vehicle belonged to him, and that he had driven it there. He has several prior convictions for felony crimes.

     Officers also arrested BERNARD EDWARD JENKINS and CHARLES LLOYD GAMBLE on one count each of Hindering Apprehension, a Felony.

   All three arrestees were transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked as follows.

CHRISTOPHER JOHN JENKINS charged with: Failure to Appear – Outstanding Bench Warrants – Felony
Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Fleeing – Misdemeanor
Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement
Hold for Other Agencies

     CHRISTOPHER JENKINS is being held without bond at this time and will appear in Circuit Court on August 27th to answer.

     BERNARD JENKINS and CHARLES GAMBLE were each booked and released from custody after posting $2,500 bond each. They will also appear in Circuit Court to answer on August 27th.
