SALESVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR TRADING DRUGS FOR STOLEN FIREARMS

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Salesville man, 46 year old MICHAEL WALDON McQUEEN, on theft by receiving charges after learning that he had traded drugs in exchange for stolen firearms taken during a rash of recent vehicle break-ins in Gassville, Salesville, and Mountain Home.
McQUEEN was determined to be on active supervised probation with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections. Authorities went to McQUEEN’S residence on Winterberry Drive in Salesville Wednesday evening for the purpose of a probation home visit. During this visit, McQUEEN admitted to investigators that he had received several firearms and knives from two men in exchange for drugs. Two of the firearms were later traded by McQUEEN to another man for more drugs, while a third was sold outright to yet another person.
Investigators also found drug paraphernalia at the residence, including used syringes.
MICHAEL WALDON McQUEEN was transported to the Detention Center and booked in at approximately 10:00 PM Wednesday evening. He is being held on charges of:
Theft by Receiving – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Bond on these charges has been set at $15,000, and he was scheduled to make an appearance in Circuit Court today to answer the charges. The investigation into these incidents is continuing.
