Midway Man Arrested For Theft of a Firearm

On Wednesday, May 20th at approximately 1 pm, Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 34 year old James Charles Lutz of Midway on charges of Theft of Property. The arrest comes after a report was filed concerning a firearm that was taken from the victim’s home in Midway. The Rossi .357 Magnum revolver was reported to be missing shortly after a relative had visited the victim’s home.
Lutz was developed as a suspect and brought in for questioning. Lutz admitted to investigators he had taken the gun from his relative’s home and the loaded firearm was retrieved by Sheriff’s Deputies from Lutz’s car. Lutz was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and charged with:
Theft of Property, Firearm Class D Felony.
Lutz is currently being held on $10,000 bond pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on May 28 at 9 am.
