WOMAN ARRESTED FOR VEHICLE THEFT

A Mountain Home woman, 25 year old JESSICA RUTH WHITSON, was arrested for motor vehicle theft Wednesday evening after Sheriff’s Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle in her possession.
The vehicle, a 1994 GMC pickup truck, was first reported stolen by the owner at 7:59 AM October 1st. He named a suspect in the theft, being JESSICA WHITSON.
Later Wednesday evening at approximately 6:20 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received information that the stolen vehicle was at a location near Baxter CR 989. Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Davis went to the location and located the vehicle. While walking around the area, he encountered JESSICA WHITSON, who was hiding, and she was subsequently taken into custody.
JESSICA WHITSON was transported to the Detention Center and booked on charges of:
Theft of Property – Felony
Failure to Appear in Court (3 counts) – Misdemeanor Warrants
Probation Violation
WHITSON has a bond of $5,000 on the felony vehicle theft charge and is being held without bond on the Probation Violation. She will appear in Circuit Court on October 30th.
