Social Media Blitz Lead to Arrest of Most Wanted, Rory Allen Gregory

June 17, approximately 5:30 pm, Rory Allen Gregory, age 52 of Mountain Home was arrested by the US Marshals Service and the Mesquite Texas Police Department. Gregory was arrested at a hotel in Mesquite without incident following a tip from a private citizen.
Gregory was wanted in Baxter County for Theft of Property, Independence County for Conspiracy to Commit Theft, Boone County for Criminal Trespass, Theft of Property and a Habitual Offender and he was also wanted in Bowie County Texas for Theft of Property.
On Friday, June 13th, Gregory was put on the Baxter County Sheriff’s Most Wanted Website and his photo was placed on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page as well as Sheriff John Montgomery’s personal Facebook Page. Gregory’s photo and status was shared 201 times on Facebook throughout several counties in Arkansas and surrounding states. Authorities believe this social media blitz is what prompted the citizen tip that led to his arrest.
Gregory is cooperating with authorities and will be returned to Baxter County at some point in the near future to face Theft Charges.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance in apprehending, Gregory. It is this continued cooperation between the public and law enforcement that continues to make Baxter County the great place it is to live and raise a family.
