Two rural Mountain Home men were arrested today, January 10th, by Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigators for breaking into a private residence on Westridge Road on December 27th.

The owner of the residence was out of town on December 27th.  He was alerted by his security system of an alarm at the residence.  The owner remotely accessed his home security system cameras and saw two unknown men inside his residence.  The owner called the Sheriff’s Office at 4:58 PM, and deputies were dispatched.

The men fled from the residence and ran into the woods as deputies were approaching the residence at approximately 5:14 PM.  Entry had been made through a window at the rear of the house.  The owner was able to provide investigators with video footage of the suspects, which was key in identifying them.

Both suspects were located today and brought to the Sheriff’s Office.  They both admitted to breaking into the residence.  A drill was stolen from the residence, but one of the suspects told investigators that he noticed the security camera system, which caused them to quickly leave the house.

TYLER RAY BELL, 28 years old of rural Mountain Home, and JEFFERY WAYNE MALLER, 32 years old of rural Mountain Home, were incarcerated in the Detention Center this afternoon, each with charges of:

Residential Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property -  Misdemeanor

Both are being held in lieu of $15,000 bond each, and they are scheduled to appear in the Circuit Court on January 16th.
