JUVENILE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR BREAKING INTO FOUR VEHICLES

     A 17 year old Baxter County juvenile has been taken into custody and charged with breaking into four separate vehicles and stealing property out of them on December 17th and 18th.  The reports were made as follows:

     On December 17th, a 2011 Kia Sorento at 51 N. Dodd Creek Rd. was broken into.  Items stolen were a woman’s purse, wallet, cash, credit/debit cards, miscellaneous papers, and 2 vehicle remote keys.  The vehicle had to later be towed to a dealership and a new key made.  Total loss from this break-in was $522.31.

     On December 17th, a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck at 313 Hicks Rd. was broken into by a rock being thrown through the passenger window.  Items stolen included a wallet and cash, credit cards, and an I-phone with charger.  Total value of items stolen was $500.00, with damage to the vehicle estimated to be $1,195.31.

     On December 17th, a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado truck at 95 N. Dodd Creek Rd. was broken into.  Approximately $4.00 in change was taken from this vehicle.

     On December 18, 2013, a 2006 Ford Mustang was broken into.  Items stolen were a wallet and cash, credit cards, photos, and cologne.  Total loss was $137.00.

     A juvenile suspect was developed in these break-ins, and some of the stolen articles were recovered.  The juvenile was taken into custody on Friday, December 27th.  He was subsequently turned over to Baxter County Juvenile Services.  Sheriff’s Investigators requested the following charges to be filed:

Breaking or Entering (4 counts) – Class F Felonies
Criminal Mischief 1
st Degree – Class D Felony
Theft of Property (4 counts) – Class A Misdemeanors
