A Baxter County man, 49 year old JAMEY DARREN ROOF, was arrested this afternoon on an outstanding warrant of arrest for Theft of Property following an investigation into the theft of a boat motor and stereo. On November 13, 2013, a report was made to the Sheriff's Office indicating that a 2009 Yamaha 25 hp outboard motor was stolen from a river boat that was parked in a storage area on Rocky Ridge Rd. next to a vacant residence. The motor had a value of $3,400.00. A stereo was also reported at the same time to have been stolen from a ski boat parked adjacent to the river boat.
On November 22nd, the owner of a pawn shop in Mountain Home informed the Sheriff's Office that he had information about the stolen boat motor. As a result of this communication and additional information provided by another person, JAMEY DARREN ROOF was developed as a suspect. Sheriff's Investigators then obtained a warrant for the arrest of ROOF.
JAMEY DARREN ROOF was booked into the Detention Center this afternoon on a charge of:
Theft of Property - Class D Felony
He was released from custody a short time later after posting $5,000.00 bond. He will make an appearance in Circuit Court on December 12th.
