A Midway man, 63 year old ALLAN B. McNEILL, died Sunday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  At approximately 10:45 AM on October 27th, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 6607 Highway 5 N in Midway on a report that ALLAN McNEILL had been found deceased on his property. 

     The investigation revealed that MR. McNEILL had been found outside sitting in a lawn mower cart by a friend, who then called authorities.  Mr. McNEILL had called this friend earlier in the morning and asked him to come to the property. Deputies found that MR. McNEILL had sustained a fatal gunshot wound from a handgun.  The handgun and a suicide note were found at the scene.  There was no foul play involved.

     The Baxter County Coroner’s Office assisted with the investigation.
