The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 41 year old WAYNE MICHAEL MOTES and 21 year old KYLE MICHAEL MOTES, both of Gamaliel, on misdemeanor charges after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance fight call at approximately 7:07 PM this evening, September 16th, at 4975 Highway 101 North in Gamaliel.
The call made to 911 from that residence reported a woman screaming and violence taking place inside the residence. Corporal Dwight Duch and Deputy Sheri Lewis arrived on scene at approximately 7:22 PM. They reported persons at the residence were being uncooperative, were refusing entry and making veiled threats, and that there may be a woman inside who was hurt. An ambulance from Baxter Regional Medical Center was summoned to the scene to standby in case injuries were later found to be present.
WAYNE and KYLE MOTES, along with the female, refused to exit from the locked residence for some time at the direction of deputies. Only at approximately 8:43 PM did they come out to speak with deputies. The woman was found to have a minor injury, for which she refused medical attention. The cause of the injury was not immediately determined. After speaking with WAYNE and KYLE MOTES, deputies arrested both on charges related to the disturbance and transported them to the Baxter County Detention Center.
WAYNE MOTES and KYLE MOTES were both booked on charges of:
Terroristic Threatening – Misdemeanor
Obstructing Governmental Operations – Misdemeanor
In addition, KYLE MOTES was found to have a syringe in his pocket that contained methamphetamine. He was charged additionally with:
Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Both of them are being held in lieu of bond and will appear in court later this month. The Arkansas State Police assisted at the scene.
