A rural Mountain Home woman was arrested Sunday afternoon, September 15th, after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Cougar Lane. At approximately 2:07 PM, Deputy Doug Meurer and Corporal Kristofer Savino answered an open-line 911 call from 767 Cougar Drive where a female was heard to be screaming in the background.
Deputies arrived and made contact with the woman and the owner of the residence where she was living at. Deputies learned that the female, identified as 23 year old KAELA LORENE HICKMAN, had thrown a telephone at the home owner and struck him in the face causing injury to him. The home owner then pepper sprayed HICKMAN. The disagreement apparently began over the whereabouts of a vehicle belonging to the home owner.
During the investigation, deputies were told that there would likely be controlled substance belonging to HICKMAN that was in the residence. Deputies subsequently found approximately 0.7 grams of a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as finding drug paraphernalia. HICKMAN is said to have admitted these items belonged to her.
KAELA LORENE HICKMAN was arrested and taken to the Detention Center for booking on charges of:
Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Domestic Battery in the Third Degree - Misdemeanor
She was later released on $10,000 bond, and she is set to appear in Circuit Court on September 26th.
