Matthew Edison Tillery |
A rural Baxter County man who is on parole was arrested this afternoon on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation and after he fled on foot from the deputy.
At approximately 1:52 PM today, Sheriff’s Corporal Kristofer Savino was dispatched to an address on State Highway 126 North of Gassville on a complaint that a woman wanted someone removed from the residence. The Sheriff’s Office learned the identity of this person and subsequently determined he was wanted for a parole violation.
Upon arrival at the residence, Corporal Savino made contact with 29 year old MATTHEW EDISON TILLERY and placed him under arrest. As TILLERY began to get dressed, he fled out the back door of the residence on foot. Corporal Savino gave chase. After approximately 50 yards, TILLERY came to a fence. Corporal Savino employed a TASER device to effectuate the arrest and prevent the escape of MATTHEW TILLERY.
MATTHEW TILLERY was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of:
Parole Violation – Felony
Fleeing from Officer – Misdemeanor
He is being held without bond on the parole violation, and he will appear in District Court on the misdemeanor fleeing charge on September 26th.
