FACEBOOK TIP LEADS TO ARREST OF MAN ON OUTSTANDING WARRANTS

JAMEY DARREN ROOF, 48 years old of rural Mountain Home, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:30 PM on outstanding warrants at 93 CR 605 by Sheriff John Montgomery. This occurred after the Sheriff’s Office received a citizen tip via Facebook that ROOF was at that residence.
The Sheriff’s Office had obtained warrants for the arrest of JAMEY ROOF after investing two separate thefts reported on July 10, 2013. The first report concerned the theft of a chainsaw that occurred from a residence on Park Road sometime between June 10th and July 10th. The second report concerned the theft of a chainsaw and a weedeater from a residence on Highway 5 North sometime between May 1st and July 10th.
After accessing the Leads On Line database, Investigators found that JAMEY ROOF had pawned these items to a Mountain Home Pawn Shop. These items collectively were valued at approximately $800. Investigators then obtained a warrant for his arrest.
JAMEY DARREN ROOF remains in the Baxter County Detention Center with a bond of $8,861 on charges of:
Breaking or Entering – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
Non-Payment of Fines (Misdemeanor warrant)
He will appear in Circuit Court today, August 8th.
