LAKEVIEW MAN ARRESTED FOR BURGLARIZING NEIGHBOR'S RESIDENCE
07/19/2013
Garrett Dean Marler |
Baxter County deputies arrested a Lakeview area resident on burglary and theft charges when they responded to complaint at 86 Surrey Drive.
The Sheriff’s Office was notified by the 911 Call Center at approximately 1:04 PM today of a verbal disturbance between two people at this residence. After arriving on scene, Sheriff’s Sergeant Ken Grayham observed a young man running toward the back side of the residence. It was determined the disturbance was between a father and son. The father informed Sergeant Grayham that he believed his son had broken into a residence next door at 50 Surrey Drive. The father had seized a backpack from the son, which contained various types of ammunition that came from the neighbor’s residence. The ammunition had a collective value of approximately $500.
The young man was ultimately coaxed into coming back to his residence, and he was subsequently taken into custody by Sergeant Grayham and Corporal Kristofer Savino. Sheriff’s Investigator Lieutenant Terry Johnson was summoned to the location to process the site of the break-in. It was determined that a novelty knife had been used to pry open the back door of the residence to gain entry.
GARRETT DEAN MARLER, 20 years old of Lakeview, has been booked into the Detention Center on charges of:
Residential Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
GARRETT MARLER has a bond of $25,000, and he will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court for first appearance on July 22nd.
