THEFT AND FORGERY OF CHECKS RESULTS IN WOMAN'S ARREST

JESSICA RUTH WHITSON, 24 years old of rural Mountain Home, was arrested Wednesday, June 26th on a felony charge of Forgery. The Sheriff's Office took a report on May 17th from a woman indicating that her check book had been stolen and several checks had been written, forged, and cashed by others not authorized to pass checks from the account.
A suspect, JESSICA WHITSON, was developed by Sheriff's Investigator Eric Neal. Evidence indicated at least three of the stolen checks collectively totaling $1,850 had been forged and cashed or presented as payment to locations in Baxter County.
The Investigator obtained a Bench Warrant for the arrest of JESSICA WHITSON for Forgery. She was released from custody Wednesday night after posting bond in the amount of $5,000. She was scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court today.
