Janice Faye Smith

     A Lakeview woman, 58 year old JANICE FAYE SMITH, was arrested Sunday, April 21^st by Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Munson after he responded to her address at 32 CR 276 for a domestic disturbance at approximately 5:07 PM.

     During the course of the investigation into the disturbance, Deputy Munson learned that JANICE SMITH had a Remington .22 caliber rifle in a closet in her home.  Deputy Munson also learned that SMITH is a felon and thereby prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm.  The rifle was not handled or used during the disturbance.

     Deputy Munson seized the rifle, and he arrested JANICE SMITH on a felony charge of Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (convicted felon).  She was transported to the Detention Center and booked in lieu of $5,000 bond.  She will appear in Circuit Court on April 25^th.
