Andrew C. Morris |
Sheriff’s deputies early this morning arrested 20 year old ANDREW C. MORRIS, who gives an address of Cotter, Arkansas, on multiple criminal charges after responding to a domestic disturbance or argument. At approximately 12:49 AM, Sheriff’s deputies Brian Davis and Chuck Menschik responded to 166 CR 806 to investigate the reported disturbance. Once on scene, they made contact with a young man who identified himself as ANDREW MORRIS but gave a false date of birth.
During the investigation, MORRIS ran out of the back door of the residence and fled on foot from deputies. Both deputies gave chase and were able to apprehend MORRIS approximately 300 yards away. A TASER was used to prevent his escape and effectuate the arrest. Once he was arrested, deputies conducted a search of MORRIS and found him to have four pills in a cigarette package in his pocket. These were tentatively identified as Morphine Sulphate. A suspected marijuana pipe was also found on MORRIS.
Deputies were able to ascertain the correct date of birth of ANDREW C. MORRIS and then learned he had an outstanding felony bench warrant for Revocation of a Suspended Sentence and was a probation absconder. MORRIS was subsequently transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked in on charges of:
Revocation of Suspended Sentence – Felony Bench Warrant
Possession of Controlled Substance (Morphine) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Fleeing from Officers – Misdemeanor
Resisting Arrest – Misdemeanor
Obstructing Governmental Operations – Misdemeanor
ANDREW C. MORRIS is being held without bond on the Revocation warrant, with a bond of $7,500 on the remaining charges. He is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on March 14th.
