ARREST MADE IN THEFT OF A FIREARM

A Norfork area man, 20 year old WILLIAM L. HERREN, was arrested Monday, January 28th, by Sheriff’s Investigators who were looking into a burglary and theft that occurred on Havner Road, which was reported on January 20th.
Homeowners reported they had gone to church on the morning of January 20th. When they returned home later in the afternoon, the found their home had been broken into and various items stolen. These included one shotgun, one pistol, jewelry, a coin collection, a 42 inch TV, and a sum of cash, all of which was valued collectively at approximately $3,200. Sheriff’s Investigators began searching pawn shop records and found that WILLIAM HERREN had pawned the shotgun that was stolen at a Mountain Home pawn shop, which was a Winchester Model 37 single shot .410 shotgun. He also pawned an air tank that the victims had not yet reported stolen.
WILLIAM HERREN was located and taken into custody. He was booked into the Detention Center on charges of:
Theft of Property – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor
HERREN was released later in the day after posting bond in the amount of $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on February 7th.
The investigation is continuing, and an additional arrest in connection with the burglary is anticipated.
