Sheriff’s Deputies responded overnight to a violent disturbance at 270 River Acres Drive in Salesville and made one arrest on felony assault charges. At approximately 3:06 AM today, deputies were sent to that address in response to a call reporting that two persons had barricaded themselves into a bedroom of the residence because they were being pursued and threatened by another man who was wielding a knife. While enroute, deputies were notified that the aggressor was attempting to force entry into the bedroom.
Deputies Brian Davis and Chuck Menschik arrived on scene at approximately 3:16 AM. Deputies visually observed a man attempting to force entry into another room of the residence. This man, later identified as 46 year old Randy Wilson of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, Wilson did not have any knives or weapons on his person, but he later told deputies that he had put the knives away in the kitchen drawer. Two large butcher knives were retrieved from the kitchen drawer.
Both of the victims hiding inside the bedroom, one of them being Wilson’s wife, told deputies that Randy Wilson had chased his wife down the hallway attempting to stab her with the knives. Wilson also allegedly threatened to shoot the victims. Deputies observed marks on the bedroom door consistent with someone having jabbed a knife or similar object into the door.
Randy Wilson was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and incarcerated on felony charges of:
Aggravated Assault on Family or Household Member
Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree
Randy Wilson remains incarcerated pending the posting of $25,000 bond, with an appearance in Circuit Court set for December 6th. There were no physical injuries reported.
