NORFORK MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY THEFT CHARGE

A Norfork man, 22 year old GARY ALLEN MORRELL 2nd, was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center this morning following his arrest on three felony charges of Theft by Receiving. On October 20, 2012, the Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the burglary of a private residence on Baxter CR 108 in the Norfork area. During this burglary, several items were reported as stolen, including three (3) guitars. These were a 1950 Gretsch electric guitar valued at $5,000, a Gibson acoustic electric guitar valued at $2,500, and an Alvarez Guitar valued at $1,500. GARY ALLEN MORRELL 2nd was identified as a suspect after he pawned one of the guitars at the PGW, Inc. pawn shop in Lakeview for $400 on October 25th, and later attempted to pawn the other two guitars at the same location. Sheriff's Investigator Eric Neal obtained a felony bench warrant for the arrest of MORRELL, and it was served today. He was booked into the Detention Center on three (3) counts of felony Theft by Receiving. MORRELL was later released from custody after posting bond in the amount of $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on November 8th. /s/ John F. Montgomery, |
