From The Baxter Bulletin, April 10, 1928:

In our announcement column this week will be found the announcement of Jim Martin for Sheriff and Collector of Baxter County.

Mr. Martin needs little introduction at our hands, as he has served in the capacity of Sheriff and Collector before, and made a splendid official.

Mr. Martin is fearless when it comes to dealing with criminals, and follows the law to the letter. He is honest, upright, and a man in every sense of the word, who has the confidence of everyone who knows him.
