Baxter County Sheriff’s Sergeant Andy Bower was called to 252 CR 276 in Lakeview at approximately 8:17 AM this morning by Baxter Regional Ambulance Service personnel to assist with a medical call they had responded to.  A 50 year old man was deceased at the residence.

     The victim was found this morning by his wife when she tried to awaken him.  The victim was under the care of a physician and taking multiple prescription medications. 

     The victim was identified as Christopher D. Sumpter, 50 years old of the residence.  His body was removed by the Baxter County Coroner’s Office.  Sheriff's Investigator Lt. Terry Johnson and the Coroner’s Office will be arranging for a toxicology analysis to be conducted due to the variety and quantity of medications being taken.

     There is no evidence of foul play involved, however the investigation will remain open pending the results of the toxicology screening.
