Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:10 am this date of a deceased man at 87 Vivian Drive, Mountain Home. The man was discovered by a neighbor who stopped by each day to check on him.

Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Brad Hurst and State Police Investigator Todd Shaw responded and found 59 year old Carson Jay Green deceased in a chair with a single gunshot wound to the chest.  A 12 gauge shotgun was also found at the scene.

After a preliminary investigation, examination of the body and the home by the two agencies, it is believed  the victim, who was suffering health related issues, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
