COTTER MAN ARRESTED TWICE OVERNIGHT FOR D.W.I.

    A Cotter man was arrested two times overnight for Driving While Intoxicated and other charges. Thirty (30) year old BRIAN E. SANDY was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center at approximately 2:17 AM after being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated – Second Offense, Driving While Suspended, and Driving Without Liability Insurance by Officer Tovar with the Gassville Police Department.  BRIAN SANDY posted $2,010.00 bond and was released at 3:00 AM into the custody of 34 year old HEATH D. CHRISTIAN of rural Mountain Home, after CHRISTIAN signed a release form agreeing to take responsibility for SANDY and not permit him to drive.

 

     A short time later at 3:24 AM, Gassville Officer Tovar notified Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Holland that he witnessed SANDY get into a vehicle in Cotter and drive away.  Sergeant Holland asked Officer Tovar to stop and detain SANDY in Cotter.  Sergeant Holland then arrested BRIAN SANDY for Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd Offense, Driving While Suspended, and Driving Without Liability Insurance.  He had a blood alcohol content of approximately 0.13% at the time of the second arrest.  SANDY was again booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and again released after posting bond in the amount of $3,115.00.  He will appear in Baxter County District Court on November 3rd on the county charges and in Gassville Department – District Court on November 14th on City of Gassville charges. 

 

     Sergeant Holland also cited HEATH CHRISTIAN for Permitting an Unauthorized Person to Drive.
