30 Year Old Gamaliel Arkansas Woman Charged With Felony Battery

     April 28, 2011 at approximately 2:50 PM, Baxter County Deputies responded to a 911 of fight in the Gamaliel, Arkansas area. When Deputies arrived they found a 38 year old Gamaliel woman covered in blood. The victim was transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center with lacerations about her face and head.

     An investigation into the incident revealed that 4 people, who were all acquaintances,  were fishing on the bank near the 101 Boat Dock in Gamaliel. The two females began arguing and the suspect, 30 year old Cristal Carson began hitting the victim. Carson picked up a rock and hit the victim several time in the head and face before one of the males that was also present broke up the fight. The four people then traveled a short distance to the 101 Grocery Mart in Gamaliel, and called 911.

Cristal Rena Carson, age 30 of Gamaliel, Arkansas was arrested without incident and charged with:

Battery, 1st Degree                  Class B Felony

     Cristal Carson was booked in the Baxter County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $25,000 pending her arraignment in Baxter County Circuit Court on May 5, 2011.

The victim was still undergong treatment at the hospital at the time of this report.
