ACTIVITY SUMMARIZED FROM NEW YEAR'S WEEKEND

     Baxter County Sheriff's Deputies stayed busy over the long New Year's holiday weekend.

     In addition to regular patrols, building checks, and special patrol requests, deputies answered a total of sixty-three (63) complaint calls or calls for service.  These included four Domestic Violence calls, four traffic accident calls, several reckless driver complaints, and many incident reports.

     Deputies issued 26 citations for various offenses and issued 44 written warnings.  There were a total of 23 persons booked into the Detention Center from arrests made by all local police agencies, and these included 7 persons arrested for DWI over the 3 day period.

     A total of 80 persons are currently incarcerated in the Detention Center, including 10 who are serving sentences following their conviction in District Court on their original charges.  There were approximately 11,000 visits to the Sheriff's Office web site over the weekend.
