INVESTIGATORS ARREST LOCAL MAN ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES

     Baxter County Sheriff's Investigators today arrested a rural Baxter County man on felony drug charges following an investigation into narcotics trafficking in the area.  Terry Wayne Wells, 56 years old of Mountain Home, was taken into custody at his home at 163 Datson Trail at approximately 9:50 AM when Sheriff's Investigators served a search warrant on the property.

     Sheriff's Investigators had made three controlled buys of marijuana from Terry Wells during the past month amounting to approximately four (4) ounces in all.  A warrant was obtained for Wells' arrest, along with a search warrant for his residence and property.

     During today's search, Sheriff's Investigators seized approximately four (4) additional ounces of packed and processed marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia, approximately $1,300 in cash, and multiple firearms. 

     Terry Wells was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center on the following charges:

     Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana - (3 counts) - Felonies
     Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Subst - Marijuana - Felony
     Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia - Felony
     Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms - Felony

     Wells was released from custody after posting bail in the amount of $50,000.  He will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on October 7th for arraignment.

     Assisting the Sheriff's Office with the arrest and search was the Arkansas State Police - CID Unit.
