Steven Dewayne Howell

The Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday afternoon arrested 41 year old STEVEN DEWAYNE HOWELL of Mountain Home on several charges after responding to a domestic disturbance on Baxter CR 202 in the Norfork area around 2:00 PM.

The victims and witnesses in the incident alleged that STEVEN HOWELL had assaulted a female and had chased her down the road.  When the woman’s father came to the residence, HOWELL is said to have gone into the residence and retrieved a knife. HOWELL then came back outside brandishing the knife in an aggressive manner and threatened to kill this man.

A Norfork police officer arrived first on the scene and took STEVEN HOWELL into custody.  Howell resisted the arrest and appeared to be under the influence of some type of controlled substance.

STEVEN HOWELL was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

Aggravated Assault – Felony
Assault on Family or Household Member- Misdemeanor
Resisting Arrest – Misdemeanor

HOWELL is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond and is scheduled to make an appearance in Circuit Court on March 23rd.
