SHERIFF'S OFFICE RESPONDS TO A DEATH IN GAMALIEL AREA

The Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on Ramblewood Lane in Gamaliel Sunday evening, January 15th, because of a death that occurred in the home.

The 911 Call Center notified the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 8:16 PM that emergency medical personnel were enroute to the address, and a Sheriff’s Deputy was requested to respond as well.  Emergency responders found the person in question to be deceased inside the residence.  He was identified as 55 year old RICKY L. JONES.

The decedent was removed from the residence by the Baxter County Coroner.  Since the cause of death was not apparent, the body of the deceased will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.  This is standard procedure when a cause of death is unknown for someone of this age.

     No foul play is suspected.

/s/ John F. Montgomery,
Baxter County Sheriff
