Suspect Sought After Search Warrant Executed in Gamaliel

During the investigation of the Armed Robbery of Bayman Beverage in Cotter, Arkansas information was developed by Investigators resulting in probable cause for a search warrant at a residence in Gamaliel, Arkansas. 

On Thursday evening, January 12, at approximately 7:45 pm, a search warrant was executed at 133 Scouts Dr in rural Gamaliel Arkansas by officers from the 14th Judicial Drug Task Force, Arkansas State Police, Cotter Police and Baxter County Sheriff’s Office. This is the known address of Dennis Roam. This search warrant was the concluding result of a multifaceted investigation where Roam was involved in the sales and distribution of illegal drugs and firearms. One of these firearms obtained from Roam was used in an armed robbery at the Bayman Liquor store in Cotter Arkansas on 1-11-2017. 

During this search of the residence and outbuildings, numerous firearms were discovered. There were several syringes, scales, baggies, and pipes all used in the ingestion, and/ or distribution of methamphetamine. Of these syringes at least one of them was pre-loaded with a liquid substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Also found was a plastic bag containing approximately 2.2 oz. of marijuana. Numerous items including tools, firearms, car titles, and other items believed to have been used as payments for contraband of illegal items were found. 

A car title of a vehicle, registered to Alexandria Rodriguez that was used in the armed robbery, was found in a lock box inside the Roam residence. Approximately 5.2 grams of methamphetamine was found in this vehicle following the execution of a separate search warrant of the vehicle, prior to the search at the Roam residence. During the post arrest interview of the robbery suspects, Alexandria Rodriguez and Joshua Cooper, it was learned the methamphetamine was purchased from Dennis Roam.

 A search of Dennis Roam’s criminal history revealed a lengthy criminal history including burglary and at least one conviction of three (3) counts of aggravated assault in 2007 for which he was sentenced to 1 year of incarceration.

 Dennis Roam’s property shares a property line with the Biker church located in Gamaliel, thus the charge of Proximity to Certain Facilities. 

The firearms recovered at the Roam residence is believed to stolen during a burglary at a residence in Mountain Home, That investigation is still continuing by the Mountain Home Police Department with additional charges likely to be filed in the future. 

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Dennis Theodore Roam, age 47 of Gamaliel and authorities are actively in search of him. The arrest warrant for Roam contains charges of:

 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia --------Class D Felony

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia -Scales… --- Class B Felony

Possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver --- Class C Felony

Possession of Marijuana with purpose to deliver --- Class D Felony

Felon in Possession of a firearm Class B Felony

Weapons offences during controlled substance offense --- Class Y felony Furnishing a deadly weapon to a felon --- Class B Felony

Proximity to certain facilities

Habitual Offender

 The bond on the warrant has been set at $100,000.
