Charges are being filed against 37 year old CHRISTOPHER RICHARD JORSCH of Midway following the burglary of a car dealership and theft of a vehicle this past weekend.

On the morning of Sunday, August 14th, a commercial burglary alarm was received by the Sheriff’s Office from Car Mart at 2077 Hwy 62 E in Mountain Home.  The alarm reported motion in the lobby and cash room.  A nearby Arkansas State Police Trooper arrived moments later, joined by Sheriff’s Deputies.  The Trooper discovered that entry into the building had been made through a glass door on the North side.  The door had been shattered with a piece of cinder block.

A set of keys appeared to be missing from a lock box.  It was later determined that a 2009 Dodge Avenger sedan was missing from the car lot, and also that three electrical boxes on the rear of the building had been tampered with and damaged.

Security video from the business gave officers footage of the suspect and the incident.  The suspect was identified by deputies as CHRISTOPHER JORSCH, a person well known to them.  The Sheriff’s Office broadcast an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies to watch for the stolen Dodge Avenger.  Not long thereafter, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the suspect and stolen vehicle had been found in neighboring Fulton County. CHRISTOPHER JORSCH had been taken into custody by Fulton County authorities and taken to the county jail in Salem.

Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigators are obtaining a bench warrant today charging CHRISTOPHER JORSCH with:

Commercial Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property – Felony
Breaking or Entering (3 counts) – Felonies
Criminal Mischief in the First Degree – Misdemeanor

JORSCH will be brought to Baxter County to answer these charges once he has been released from the Fulton County Jail.  Fulton County is also said to have charges against JORSCH.  Bond on the Baxter County warrant will be $30,000.
