SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

07/13/2016

Robert Dale Gunter

The Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Level 3 (high risk to re-offend) Sex Offender for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

ROBERT DALE GUNTER, 47 years of age, was arrested today and has been incarcerated in the Detention Center.

GUNTER came to the Sheriff’s Office today to register.  He informed the registration coordinator that he had been residing at 108 CR 677 in Mountain Home with a family member for more than two months, despite the fact that he was listed as living at an address in Flippin, Arkansas.  The address he gave today to the coordinator is within 2,000 feet of the Keller City Park, which would prohibit his being able to reside there under Arkansas law.

ROBERT DALE GUNTER is charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration – a Felony.  He is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond, and he will make an appearance in Circuit Court to answer on July 21st.

GUNTER had been convicted of rape in June, 1992.  Documentation indicates that offense involved the offender engaging in forced sexual contact with an adult female.  He was also convicted in 2009 for Failure to Register.
