DEPUTIES RESPOND TO DISTURBANCE AND MAKE ARREST

06/28/2016

Steven Paul Gunn

After responding to a disturbance call this morning on Baxter CR 481, deputies arrested a 37 year old Springfield, Missouri man, STEVEN PAUL GUNN, on three felony charges related to the incident.

At approximately 11:32 AM today, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman reporting that STEVEN GUNN was inside her residence. GUNN allegedly told the woman that he had wrecked his vehicle last night somewhere in Missouri and then came to her residence.  The woman told GUNN to leave the premises, which made him become irate.  He began chasing the woman and threatening her with a rock.  He then began to throw rocks at her car, breaking both passenger side windows.  He also damaged her residence.  The total amount of damage was estimated to be approximately $2,000.

The woman told deputies that GUNN had assaulted her earlier this year as well, for which she required hospitalization.

Following the initial investigation, STEVEN PAUL GUNN was taken into custody and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:

Residential Burglary – Felony
Aggravated Assault – Felony
Criminal Mischief 1st Degree – Felony

GUNN remains in the Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.  He is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court to answer on Thursday, June 30th.
