LAKEVIEW MAN ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING AND DOMESTIC BATTERY

     The Sheriff’s Office has arrested 54 year old DAVID TURNER GENGLER of Lakeview on kidnapping and domestic battery charges after his female victim placed a call for help to the 911 Center yesterday evening, May 24th, at approximately 9:55 PM from 14 Greenwood Avenue.

     Upon arrival at the residence, officers found the victim lying on the floor by the front door.  She had marks on her wrists as if she had been bound and was covered with injuries and possible cigarette burns.  Officers also saw blood spatters on the walls of the residence and a large amount of tape on the bathroom floor.  Officers also made contact with DAVID GENGLER at the residence.  Both GENGLER and his victim lived there together.  The victim is 57 years old.

     Further examination of the residence uncovered other evidence that the victim had been confined, tied-up, and that injuries had been intentionally inflicted on her person.  The victim was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and later moved to a hospital in Springfield, Missouri. DAVID GENGLER was arrested and taken into custody.

     DAVID TURNER GENGLER is being charged with:

Kidnapping – Felony
Domestic Battery in the First Degree – Felony

     He is currently being held in lieu of $250,000 bond and will appear in the Circuit Court to answer on June 2nd.  He was also served with a No Contact Order requiring him to keep away from the victim.

     An Arkansas State Parks Ranger assisted at the scene.
