The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the hit and run accident on Old Military Road that was reported on November 3rd that claimed the life of 63 year old DOUGLAS A. FOREMAN of rural Mountain Home.

Dozens of citizen tips have been received since the accident occurred. Investigators have spent many hours following-up on the leads, both in Baxter County and out of county.

A vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was executed on that vehicle. The vehicle was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for forensic analysis. It was determined that this vehicle was NOT the vehicle involved in this fatal crash.

Paint samples taken from the crash scene have been sent to the FBI Crime Laboratory in Virginia for analysis. The results from that analysis have not yet been received. In addition, a professional reconstruction of the accident scene was undertaken and has now been completed.

An initial reward of $500.00 had been offered by a group of private citizens for information in this case. The amount of the reward has now been increased, and a $4,750.00 reward is currently being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for this fatality hit and run.

The Sheriff’s Office renews its request for any members of the public who may have information about this case, regardless of how minor or trivial it may seem, to come forward and make that information known in order that investigators may follow-up on it. Tips and information can be given to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division or through the anonymous tip line at 870-424-4636.
