Two men were arrested this morning after authorities went to a residence at 11 Costner Ln. in search of 50 year old BOBBY DON MORRIS on an outstanding felony warrant.  Sheriff’s Investigators had obtained a bench warrant for the arrest of BOBBY MORRIS after going to his residence on Costner Ln in rural Mountain Home on April 22nd for a probation home visit.  While at the residence, officers found a 2008 Yamaha scooter in the back yard.  After running the vehicle identification number (VIN) through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database, it was found that the scooter, valued at $1,949.00, had been stolen from a residence in Briarcliff on February 19th.  The stolen scooter was seized and taken into evidence, and a warrant for the arrest of BOBBY DON MORRIS was issued on April 29th.

Upon arrival at the residence today, authorities made contact with 35 year old SCOTT ALAN VEST, who was standing outside.  Authorities asked for MORRIS, but VEST said that MORRIS was not there.  This was a false statement, as authorities found MORRIS inside the house.  SCOTT VEST was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Failure to Appear in Court.  Both BOBBY MORRIS and SCOTT VEST were taken into custody on their warrants.  While being searched, officers found approximately two grams of methamphetamine on the person of SCOTT VEST in his pants pocket, which was seized and taken into evidence.

MORRIS and VEST were both transported to the Baxter County Detention Center.  BOBBY MORRIS is being held on charges of:

Theft by Receiving – Class D Felony
Parole Violation – Felony

Bond on the Theft warrant is $5,000, with a no bond hold on the parole violation.  MORRIS will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on May 8th.

SCOTT VEST was booked on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – Felony
Obstructing Governmental Operations - Misdemeanor
Failure to Appear – Misdemeanor

VEST was released after posting bond in the amount of $5,570.  He will appear in Circuit Court also on May 8th.
