SHERIFF'S OFFICE RELEASES HOLIDAY ACTIVITY SUMMARY

     Overall, the Sheriff’s Office experienced a fairly busy Labor Day holiday weekend.  From Friday August 30th through Monday, September 2nd, the Sheriff’s Office took 114 complaint calls or calls for service.

     There were a total of 25 persons booked into the Detention Center on various charges from all local agencies, including 13 bookings by Sheriff’s Deputies.  Overall bookings from all agencies included:

Driving While Intoxicated                                                        5

Public Intoxication or Drinking in Public                                 3

Possession of Drugs or Paraphernalia                                   3

Domestic Violence Charges                                                   2          

Thefts or Shopliftings                                                             2

     Sheriff’s Deputies issued a total of 6 citations for various traffic and misdemeanor charges, as well as 7 warnings for traffic offenses.  In addition to the normal patrols, additional deputies were patrolling the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers parks and campgrounds under contract. 

     The only significant event during the holiday period was the drowning that occurred on Lake Norfork on Saturday afternoon, August 31st that has been previously reported.
