SEX OFFENDER RECEIVES RISK LEVEL ASSESSMENT

07/08/2013

Joseph Patrick Wuellner

The Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public that a rural Mountain Home man who Registered as a Sex Offender at the Sheriff’s Office in March, 2013 but had not yet been assessed has now received a risk assessment level from the Sex Offender Screening and Risk Management Office.  The offender has now been classified as a Level 2 Offender (Moderate Risk to re-offend with community notification justified).

NAME:                       JOSEPH PATRICK WUELLNER

DATE OF BIRTH:   02/18/1988

HOME ADDRESS:  3758 Sycamore Springs Rd.
                                    Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653

The offender was convicted on 03/11/2013 in the United States District Court – Western District of Arkansas, of the offense of Transferring Obscene Material to a 13 year old minor on Facebook.  He was sentenced to time he had already served in federal custody. Community notification is justified due to the young age of the victim at the time the crime was committed.

This person is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.  This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.  This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders.  Citizen abuse will not be tolerated.  Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
