RESULTS OF POLL QUESTION FROM SEPT 19 - 26

     The results of the Sheriff's Office web site poll for the period of September 19th to September 26th are in. In this poll, the question was: "When a person is booked into the County Jail, Federal and State Regulations prevent Medicare, Medicaid, and VA from paying for any medications or doctor’s treatments they need.  The County has to pay for their medical care.  What do you think?”

     There were 426 votes cast in this poll. The results were:

Yes, the County should have to pay for all medications and medical care…
31 votes or 7.3%

No, Medicare, Medicaid and VA Benefits shouldn’t stop just because they are in jail…
263 votes or 61.7%

I wasn’t aware their benefits stopped and the County had to pay….
132 votes of 31%

     The poll question on the Sheriff’s web site changes every Wednesday afternoon.
